Teams and Programs

Each summer we hold a beginner program for anyone who would like to try Synchronized Swimming. Swimmers ages seven to eleven who are comfortable in deep water are welcome. The classes are held during the summer months.

This is a non-competitive program that will develop the basic skills necessary for Synchronized Swimming.  Along with basic skills, the coaches will be following the National Achievement Program where the swimmers can earn certificates and patches.  The swimmers progress at their own rate and are evaluated when they are ready. This program is designed by former World and National Synchronized Swimming Champion Sue (Baross) Nesbitt.  Sue is the Head Coach of the Riverside AQuettes.  Her experience as a National and Olympic Coach will certainly make this program something you do not want to miss!  The program was started to give more swimmers an opportunity to try Synchronized Swimming without the year-round commitment necessary for competitive synchronized swimming.  If your swimmer would like to, she will learn all the skills necessary to join our competitive program.  However, you can stay in the recreational program for years, if you like. You may register on a week by week basis.  There is no long-term obligation, and no commitment to the club other than the $30 weekly fee.  Classes are 50 minutes in duration and meet five times per week, Monday though Friday.  Classes are held at the Sippy Woodhead Pool 2060 University Ave at the corner of Kansas.

We will be having these one hour a week classes all summer.

Synchro Lites

These classes are either once or twice a week for an two hours throughout the year. The classes teach the basics of synchronized swimming in a non-competitive setting as well as stress basic physical fitness. Current cost per month is $50 for once a week and $100.00 for twice a week.

Competitive Program

Swimmers are admitted to the competitive program in late summer or early Fall as they meet the requirements and space is available. Swimmers are grouped in teams of approximately eight girls each. Teams are divided by age and ability, with the actual groupings depending upon the number of swimmers in the club. The age of a swimmer is determined by her birth year. Subtract the birth year from the competitive year to determine the swimmers competitive age. Competition begins at the novice level and proceeds to swimmers who compete at a number of national meets per season. The competitive season is January through June with about one competition per month. Usually these are in the Southern California area.
